This book is the result of a collaborative project between a husband and wife artist team. For thirty years Chaim Bezalel and Yonnah Ben Levy have been combining photography and painting to create a series of works that depict the history of Israel through its architecture. Israel is a repository of history, a history which reflects the heights and depths of humanity. Some of the sites illustrated in this book are well known; some no longer exist. This is a personal account, the fulfillment of a dream, to bear witness, first to our own generation, of our "sojourn in the land."
