The first eight of these paintings were completed between 1990 and 1991, before, during, and immediately after the Gulf War, when scud rockets were raining down on Israel, and Chaim was drafted into the Israeli army, at age 40. The ninth painting, depicting the Tomb of the Patriarchs, was done several years later. Most of these paintings have been sold and are available in the form of prints, posters, or large greeting card sets.
